I’m Kym, Product Designer (UI/UX Designer) — driven by curiosity and an eagerness to solve problems. Striving to finding better, smarter ways to help businesses push boundaries whilst being an ambassador for users

Currently I am working within the Qantas Hotels & Holidays tribe within Qantas Loyalty. I have been working in a cross-functional iterative agile environment with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers and Developers and collaborated across teams to ensure digital experiences are delivered and consistency was executed and delivered in a timely manner.

With almost 13 years of design experience; 5 years experience in the UX/UI field and 8 years in the design industry. designing end-to-end aesthetic user interfaces of web and mobile products that solve complex problems, and continually improving designs through constant iterations based on users feedback and analytics.

My role involves mentoring and managing 4 Senior Product Designers – very talented members of our UX team, and collaborating with leaders of other product and engineering teams to create innovative experiences across the product ecosystem we are responsible for.

My day to day involves working closely with squads throughout the sprint cycles, and I’m embedded in the rituals such as stand-ups, retros, planning and reviews to ensure the product and development are aligned and delivered on time and consistency is executed to the detail.  We are often running workshops, showcases, walkthroughs and demos;  getting buy-in from stakeholders, managing expectations, and managing successful relationships are important in meeting both user and business goals. 

Experienced in designing end-to-end user interfaces of web and mobile products that solve complex problems. Continually improving designs through constantly iterations based on users feedback. I strive for getting the best product experience with high quality designs, whilst balancing with speed of delivery to market to learn and the need to continually iterate. 

A problem-solver at heart, with empathy at the centre of everything I do. I ensure objectives and requirements are understood and work hard to ensure consistency across the user journey. Continuing to establish and guide UX/UI processes and methods to deliver the best product outcomes. This often involves collaborating with different skills sets to ensure you have buy-in from other teams.

Demonstrated experience crafting low-fidelity to high-fidelity interactive prototypes and have mastered the art of balancing competing priorities. Experience in conducting user research to discover users needs and pain points to make justified recommendations, and user testing to gather qualitative data to make informed decisions and iterative quickly towards designs that meet users’ needs.
